Josh Donaldson Likely To Begin Rehab Assignment Thursday
2 years agoNew York Yankees manager Aaron Boone said that third baseman Josh Donaldson (hamstring) is likely to begin his minor-league rehab assignment on Thursday with Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre. Donaldson could rejoin the team for their three-game series in Seattle against the Mariners early next week, but more than likely he won't return until the team plays the Los Angeles Dodgers on the road next weekend. The 37-year-old veteran has been out since early April due to a right-hamstring strain, and he had gone just 2-for-16 (.125) with a solo home run and six strikeouts in five games played before the injury. The expectation is that Donaldson will be the everyday third baseman once he's back, but he'll have to stay healthy first.
