Jose Trevino Placed On Injured List
2 years agoThe New York Yankees placed catcher Jose Trevino (hamstring) on the 10-day injured list on Thursday with a left-hamstring strain and recalled catcher Ben Rortvedt from Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre in a corresponding move. Trevino heads to the shelf after hitting just .219 (21-for-96) with two doubles, three home runs and 11 RBI in his first 30 games this season. Kyle Higashioka will now serve as New York's primary catcher, with Rortvedt backing him up. HIgashioka hasn't hit much better than Trevino so far this year, as he's gone 12-for-57 (.211) with two doubles, three home runs, nine RBI and six runs scored in 62 plate appearances and 20 games played.
