Jose Altuve Being Evaluated For Concussion
3 years agoHouston Astros second baseman Jose Altuve (head) is in the league's concussion protocol after a collision on Monday against the Oakland Athletics, and manager Dusty Baker is unsure if Altuve will play on Tuesday. Baker said Altuve "didn't look too good in the eyes" when he came back to the dugout after his seventh-inning collision with A's first baseman Christian Bethancourt. The 32-year-old second baseman came into Monday's game hitting .279/.345/.535 with nine home runs, 14 RBI, 22 runs scored and two stolen bases in 129 at-bats, and he went 2-for-4 with his 10th home run of the year, two RBI and a run scored in Monday's win. Aledmys Diaz and Mauricio Dubon could split time at the keystone if Altuve is forced to the concussion injured list.
