Jordan Montgomery’s Start Still In Place
Jordan Montgomery on Tuesday when the game is played. The 25-year-old could’ve been skipped, but the club will not opt to do so, reinforcing their faith in Montgomery. The left-hander, heading into his second professional season, went 9-7 last year with a 3.88 ERA as a rookie after unexpectedly winning the fifth starting spot. This spring he made five starts, going 2-2 with a 3.43 ERA. Last year, his first start was also against the Tampa Bay Rays, and he gave up just two earned runs while striking out seven batters across 4 2/3 innings.
