Washington Capitals defenseman John Carlson registered a pair of assists in his team's 5-2 defeat of the visiting Anaheim Ducks on Monday. In finding the scoresheet twice, the 29-year-old extended his personal point streak to seven games - a stretch in which he's posted 11 points (one goal, 10 assists). Carlson is off to a historic start in the nation's capital in 2019-2020, sitting third in the NHL in scoring with 34 points (eight goals, 26 assists) to go along with a plus-15 rating, 11 power-play points and 66 shots on goal. Currently on a 121-point pace, the Massachusetts native has a legitimate opportunity to become just the sixth defenseman in NHL history to break the 100-point barrier (last done by Brian Leetch in 1991-1992). He'll face the Rangers up next on Wednesday.--Chase Davis - RotoBaller
