Dallas Cowboys secondary coach and passing-game coordinator Joe Whitt Jr. has officially been named the Washington Commanders' new defensive coordinator. Whitt is following former Cowboys defensive coordinator Dan Quinn to D.C. after Quinn was named Washington's new head coach. Whitt and Quinn worked together in Dallas the last three years, each time producing a top-five defense in points allowed. They will have a much tougher job with the Commanders defense, a unit that ranked last in the NFL in both points and yards allowed in 2023. The 45-year-old Whitt has coached in the NFL since 2007 but has never been a coordinator. Because of Quinn's experience calling plays on the defensive side of the ball, it's likely he'll continue calling the plays in D.C. instead of Whitt.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBallerRead More News
