Jets Still Believe In Denzel Mims
3 years agoNew York Jets second-year wide receiver Denzel Mims has just one catch for 40 yards through two games, and he was a healthy scratch in the Week 2 loss to the New England Patriots. Because he doesn't play special teams, Mims must learn all the wideout positions if he wants to start on game day in a crowded receiver room. Teams have been calling to see if Mims is available via trade, but the Jets have turned them away. Even though Mims is on the outside looking in for more playing time in New York, the front office hasn't given up on him and still believe in his future. With Jamison Crowder (groin) doubtful to play in Week 3 against the Denver Broncos, Corey Davis, Braxton Berrios and rookie Elijah Moore should start in three-receiver sets. Mims will be a game-time decision as to whether he's active, but obviously he should be on the waiver wire in redraft leagues.
