Cincinnati Bengals safety Jessie Bates III isn't anticipated to ink a long-term deal anytime soon. Both sides have until July 15 to agree on a new contract, or he'll have to play under the franchise tag, which would pay him nearly $13 million. Yet, the 25-year-old hasn't signed that, either, so there's a chance he won't be a training camp. Bates was a reliable defensive contributor for the Bengals last season, amassing 88 total tackles (67 solo), four passes defended, one interception, and one fumble recovery. He also had two picks during the postseason. Nonetheless, the former Demon Deacon isn't an everyday fantasy producer. However, he is (was) expected to have his share of effective performances in 2022-23 and will undoubtedly be missed by IDP managers if he's not on the field.--Dennis Clausen - RotoBallerRead More News
