Montreal Canadiens forward Jesperi Kotkaniemi scored his first-ever road goal, breaking a streak that saw him score all 11 of his goals on home ice last season. The Canadiens will need Kotkaniemi to increase his goal totals this season, as their lack of goal-scoring depth led to them missing the playoffs. Playing on a line with Jonathan Drouin should help his point totals, however, for the immediate future, he will be left off both of their powerplay units. Tomas Tatar and Jordan Weal were the other scorers for the Canadiens in a 4-3 shootout loss. --Nate Duffett
