Jeff Wilson Jr. Injures Knee Sunday
3 years agoSan Francisco 49ers running back Jeff Wilson Jr. (knee) aggravated his knee injury in the Week 13 loss to the Seattle Seahawks. Wilson's knee has flared up at times before, and head coach Kyle Shanahan said it usually bothers Wilson for a couple of days. Neither Wilson nor JaMycal Hasty saw a single touch behind rookie workhorse Elijah Mitchell on Sunday, but Mitchell is in the league's concussion protocol. Fellow rookie Trey Sermon (ankle) is on Injured Reserve and will miss at least the next two games, and Trenton Cannon (head, neck) was taken off the field in an ambulance on Sunday. So if Mitchell and Wilson can't play in Week 14 against the Cincinnati Bengals, they could be severely short-handed at the RB position. We'll have a better idea of what this backfield will look like come Sunday once the team gets through a few practices.
