Jaylen Samuels A Deeper PPR Flex Option In Week 1
5 years agoPittsburgh Steelers running back Jaylen Samuels is set to be the primary backup to James Conner when they open the season against the New England Patriots Sunday night. The second-year back from NC State developed a solid pass-catching role with the Steelers last season in Conner's three-game absence. Against the Patriots, Samuels has a chance to see some opportunities, as New England ranked 22nd against running backs out of the backfield last year. They surrendered 7.9 pass attempts per game to backs and 49.1 yards per game. While Samuels isn't going to out-snap Conner, he will be on the field and should see a handful of targets Sunday. This gives him some deep league, full-PPR flex value, especially if you start multiple flex spots.
