Javonte Williams Ready For A Bigger Role?
3 years agoDenver Broncos rookie running back Javonte Williams had a season-low seven carries for 48 yards in the Week 4 loss to the Baltimore Ravens when the Broncos only ran the ball four times in the second half. Williams has been in a near-even timeshare with Melvin Gordon III (leg), who is expected to play in Week 5 against the Pittsburgh Steelers. Gordon has seen slightly more touches, but Williams has looked more explosive while ripping off chunk gains on the ground. He ranks ninth in the NFL and second among rookies in yards per rush after first contact (3.2). Williams still needs to become a bit more decisive, but his long-term outlooks is solid. As long as he's sharing touches down the middle with Gordon, he'll remain a low-ceiling RB3/flex for fantasy purposes.
