Jarrett Stidham Dealing With Hip Injury
4 years agoUpdating a previous report, New England Patriots quarterback Jarrett Stidham (hip) is dealing with a hip injury that won't be 100 percent for a few weeks, but he's fighting to play through it at training camp. Stidham was taken to a local hospital on Thursday for precautionary tests on his hip that came back negative, but he had a much lighter workload on Friday at practice. His injury would explain why he threw an unusual amount of interceptions in practice in recent days. Stidham has been competing for the starting QB job with Cam Newton and Brian Hoyer, but this injury could hurt his chances. It's good news for Newton, but he'll need to demonstrate a better grasp of the offense. With a month until Week 1, Newton should still be considered the favorite to start against the Dolphins.
