Jarred Kelenic's Activation Is Imminent
1 year agoSeattle Mariners president of baseball operations Jerry Dipoto said that outfielder Jarred Kelenic (foot) is close to being activated from the injured list. "I don't suspect it is going to be too much longer. Could be any day now. It's also we're 3,000 miles away and I'm not sure it is the appropriate thing to do, send him cross country. Minimally, I think you will see him next week," Dipoto said. "He appears to be raking." The 24-year-old will most likely be back with the Mariners when they return to Seattle on Monday. In six minor-league rehab games for Triple-A Tacoma, he's gone 9-for-21 with a home run and a stolen base while playing full games in the outfield the last two nights. Kelenic should return to an everyday role in Seattle's outfield to close out the year.
