Seattle Mariners starter James Paxton has been exceptional his past two starts, striking out 26 hitters over his last 13 innings. He has allowed only two runs during that span and his ERA has plummeted from 5.61 to 4.19. Paxton came into the 2018 season as the de facto ace after going 12-5 with 2.98 ERA through 136 innings last season. An injury derailed parts of his season last year, but he finished up strong, going 5-2 with a 2.63 ERA in the second half of 2017. The Mariners have an improved offense this season, which should equate to more run support for the surging Paxton in the coming weeks.--Joey C - RotoBaller
