Jake Bauers Getting a Day Off
Jake Bauers is taking the day off in Sunday's series finale against the division-rival Pittsburgh Pirates at PNC Park. With Bauers resting in the matinee contest, Isaac Collins will make the start in left field and will hit fifth against Pirates left-hander Bailey Falter. The left-handed-hitting Bauers has started three of the last four games in left field for the Brew Crew against right-handed pitchers as he continues a platoon at the position with Collins. The 29-year-old has a .260/.357/.438 slash line on the year with a .795 OPS, three home runs, 13 RBI, nine runs scored and four stolen bases in his 73 trips to the plate. Bauers has gone 10-for-36 (.278) with a homer, two doubles, five RBI, three steals and three runs in 14 games in May. Collins hasn't really moved the needle much in fantasy with a .238 average (19-for-80) with a homer, six RBI and four steals.
