4 years agoThe Jacksonville Jaguars are expected to hire Trent Baalke as their next general manager, according to sources. Baalke was the top internal candidate and will remain with the organization to work with new head coach Urban Meyer. The deal isn't official, but it's expected to become official soon. Baalke joined the team's front office as director of pro personnel in early February of 2020 and was working under general manager Dave Caldwell before Caldwell was fired at the end of November. Baalke became the interim GM to close out the season. Jacksonville also parted ways with John Idzik, the team's special assistant to the GM. Meyer will work closely with Baalke and will be the one determining the vision and blueprint for the Jaguars roster moving forward, so it'll be interesting to see how the relationship unfolds between Baalke and Meyer.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller
