The Miami Marlins selected outfielder/third baseman Jacob Berry with the sixth overall pick in the 2022 MLB draft. The 21-year-old played college baseball at LSU last year and hit .370/.464/.630 with 15 homers, 48 RBI and 47 runs over 53 games. He is a switch hitter and has shown the ability to hit for contact and power from both sides of the plate. He has some defensive concerns as he lacks ideal speed for the outfield and has been described as "too rigid" for third base. He could wind up being a first baseman or primarily a designated hitter in the majors. Either way, he's someone who could help the Marlins sooner rather than later as he's further along than many other prospects who were taken at the top of this year's draft.--Andrew Ericksen - RotoBallerRead More News
