Jack Flaherty To Start Game 2 Of Friday's Doubleheader
Jack Flaherty (shoulder) has been named the team's starter for Game 2 of Friday's doubleheader against the Chicago Cubs. He will be on a pitch count for the game. Cardinals manager Mike Shildt told reporters on Wednesday that it "wouldn't be unfair to describe him as an opener." Flaherty has been out for about a month due to a right shoulder strain. He threw 15 pitches in batting practice on Tuesday and the speculation is that he won't throw many more pitches than that on Friday. Fantasy managers may want to add him and stash him on the bench. He isn't a very enticing option to insert into fantasy lineups on Friday as he likely won't pitch enough to deliver value.
