Christopher Bell’s Performance At Daytona A Sign Of Things To Come?
10 months agoOn Saturday afternoon, Christopher Bell qualified 22nd for Sunday's Ambetter Health 400 at Atlanta Motor Speedway. Coming off a third-place finish at Daytona, Bell enters this race with a lot of momentum. It appears that Monday's performance had an influence on the sportsbooks, as DraftKings currently has the JGR star at +1200 to win, the same odds as last week's winner, William Byron. Even though last week was certainly impressive, it should be noted that Daytona and Atlanta are different despite both being restrictor plate tracks. Not only is Atlanta nearly a mile shorter in length than Daytona, but it is a track that requires more handling, which can certainly impact the flow of a race. Furthermore, in the four races since the track was reconfigured, the results for the 29-year-old have been underwhelming. Despite finishing third in this race last spring, his next best finish is just 19th. Due to his struggles at Atlanta, we recommend limiting your exposure to just 10-15% when building your lineups, even with the favorable starting position he offers.
