Irv Smith Jr. Going On Injured Reserve
2 years agoThe Minnesota Vikings placed tight end Irv Smith Jr. (ankle) on Injured Reserve on Tuesday, which will keep him out for at least the next four games. He's expected to be sidelined eight to 10 weeks after suffering a high-ankle sprain in the Week 8 win over the Arizona Cardinals. On top of the injury, the Vikings went out and acquired T.J. Hockenson from the Detroit Lions on Tuesday, so he'll now step in as the team's top pass-catching tight end with Smith sidelined. The 24-year-old Smith might not play again in 2022, so he's not worth holding in single-year fantasy leagues, especially with Hockenson now in town. Smith missed all of last season due to injury and might finish 2022 with just seven games played for the Vikings.
