Injury Question Marks Open Opportunity For Kyle Monangai
D'Andre Swift, but the backup role is seemingly up for grabs. Incumbent Roschon Johnson (foot) has missed the majority of training camp. Reserves, like veteran Travis Homer and seventh-round rookie Kyle Monangai, have also missed practice time in August. The latter has a chance to secure the backup role with Johnson's less-than-impressive résumé thus far. The Bears were one of the teams to keep an eye on to add another running back after cut day, but nearly a week has come and gone without a new face on the practice field. Monangai, who ran for 1,200+ yards in his final two seasons at Rutgers, is an interesting watch candidate and possible bench stash. However, there may not be any clarity about the Chicago backfield until a few games into the regular season.
