Washington Capitals goaltender Ilya Samsonov will start Thursday's game against the Buffalo Sabres. The 23-year-old is the future of the Capitals crease, and will probably see even more work after Henrik Lundqvist (heart) opted out of the season. Samsonov posted a 16-6-2 record last year to go along with a .913 save percentage.
