Ian Poulter Looks To Regain Swagger At Pebble Beach
6 years agoIan Poulter heads to the 119th U.S. Open Championship at Pebble Beach Golf Links looking to get back on track after a couple of uneventful finishes. He missed the cut at Bethpage Black in the PGA Championship, then limped to 70th place in the Charles Schwab Challenge in his most recent showing. There is a glimmer of hope at Pebble Beach, however, as he ranks 24th in Greens In Regulation Percentage (69.31 percent), while registered 43rd on Tour in Driving Accuracy. He is so-so in Par 4 Scoring Average, another key factor, while checking in a respectable 45th in Strokes Gained: Around the Green. His fate might be determined on the greens, where he needs to be better than his 29.29 Putts Per Round, an area he has struggled mightily.
