Guardians Option Bo Naylor To Triple-A
2 years agoThe Cleveland Guardians informed catching prospect Bo Naylor that he has been optioned to Triple-A Columbus. The team's No. 4 prospect, per MLB Pipeline, is eventually ticketed to be Cleveland's catcher of the future, but the 23-year-old's time in the big leagues will have to wait. Mike Zunino will serve as the Guardians' primary backstop to open the 2023 campaign, with Bryan Lavastida, Cam Gallagher and Zack Collins fighting to earn the backup duties. Naylor has unique speed for a catcher and could eventually work his way up to being one of the most valuable catchers in fantasy baseball. With Columbus and Double-A Akron in 2022, Naylor hit .263/.392/.496 with an .889 OPS, 21 home runs, 68 RBI, 73 runs scored and 20 stolen bases in 118 games played.
