Gregory Polanco Returns To Pirates
6 years agoPittsburgh Pirates right fielder Gregory Polanco (shoulder) has returned to the club on Monday, following a rehab assignment in Triple-A Indianapolis. The team's Twitter account posted an image with Polanco standing at his locker in PNC Park. An official move hasn't been announced by the team, but he is returning from shoulder surgery that shortened his career season in 2018. This is big news for a banged up Bucs team that just lost center fielder Starling Marte over the weekend. Polanco will return to his everyday job in right, where he hit a career high 23 home runs and drove in 81, while slashing .254/.340/.499 last season. In his last five games in Triple-A, Polanco hit .300 over 22 plate appearances, drove in five runs, and stole two bases. His rehab took an accelerated path and he's back sooner than expected. If he is still available in your league, he should be picked up immediately. 20 homers and 80 RBI is not out of the question for the 27-year-old and he could be a big addition to your fantasy roster.
