Gio Gonzalez Going To White Sox
5 years agoThe Chicago White Sox are in agreement on an undisclosed deal with starting pitcher Gio Gonzalez on Thursday. The 34-year-old left-hander was 3-2 with a 3.50 ERA, 1.29 WHIP and 78 strikeouts in 87 1/3 innings in 17 starts and two relief appearances for the Brew Crew in 2019. He came over to Milwaukee in 2018 after making 27 starts with the Nationals earlier that season. The veteran southpaw can be erratic at times but can still miss plenty of bats as well. He figures to pitch near the end of the Pale Hose starting rotation, but he could also be a long-relief arm in his new home. Gonzalez will only be attractive in deeper mixed leagues as a streamer if he's in a starting role.
