Giancarlo Stanton Still Owns Citi Field
7 years agoNew York Yankees slugger Giancarlo Stanton added an insurance run for his club on Friday night as they took on the New York Mets in the first game of this season’s Subway Series. The 28-year-old had not recorded a hit through his first three plate appearances but would deliver a solo home run to left in the ninth. The shot, which bounced off the foul pole, was his 22nd at Citi Field, the most by any visiting player in the stadium’s 10-year history. Stanton is now hitting .252 with 15 home runs and 34 RBI.
