2021 just did not go quite so well overall for Gary Woodland. It is hard to believe this was the same golfer that won the 2019 US Open. Woodland struggled mightily too often with his overall game. It just seemed that Woodland could not do one thing with solid efficiency. The results spoke for themselves. Too many times, the American would miss cuts or shoot himself right out of contention. His implosion at the Northern Trust was a microcosm of 2021. It started pretty well and then a 77 almost out of nowhere on Sunday. Woodland must make putts and be accurate with his approaches. He did rank 53rd in approaching the green last season. --Chris Wassel - RotoBaller
