Garrett Mitchell Promoted To Double-A
3 years agoThe Milwaukee Brewers promoted outfielder Garrett Mitchell, the team's top prospect, to Double-A Biloxi after going 4-for-6 with two home runs and six RBI for High-A Wisconsin. The UCLA product was dominant before the promotion, MLB's No. 49 overall prospect hit .359/.504/.620 with five home runs, 20 RBI and 12 steals in 28 games for Wisconsin. The five-tool outfielder missed most of May with a muscle strain in his left knee, but he recorded a hit in 20 of the 28 games he's played since returning. The 22-year-old has showcased his power to all fields, his speed and his advanced approach at the plate with 33 hits and 27 walks in 119 plate appearances. Mitchell is unlikely to make it to the big leagues this year, but he's already become a stash candidate in dynasty/keeper leagues and could continue to rise quickly in Milwaukee's farm system.
