Detroit Red Wings center Frans Nielsen (head) has been cleared to return and was practicing on the third line in advance of Thursday night’s game against the Los Angeles Kings. Nielsen missed three games after taking a blow to the head in a game against the Boston Bruins. He looks to be playing with speedster Andreas Athanasiou again at even strength, as well as regaining his position on the top power-play unit, which should provide some scoring opportunity. Nielsen only has 28 points on the year with 14 goals, but he has a healthy 12.8 percent shooting percentage, which is his highest mark since 2013. His return will benefit Detroit on the ice more than it will for any fantasy rosters, however, so unless you are desperate for a center, his return does not really move the needle.--Russ Ivanac - RotoBaller
