Ernie Clement Still Out on Friday
Ernie Clement (finger, shin) remains out of action for Friday's series opener against the visiting Milwaukee Brewers. Addison Barger will make another start at the hot corner and will hit second against Brewers right-hander Freddy Peralta. Clement was involved in a collision at third base in Tuesday's game. He suffered a hairline fracture in his left middle finger and also needed 10 stitches in his left shin. The 29-year-old didn't play on Wednesday and won't be available to start the weekend series at the Rogers Centre, although he's being considered day-to-day for now. Barger should continue to play third base for Toronto while Clement heals up. Barger has plenty of power with 18 long balls on the year in 379 at-bats, and he's also contributed 61 RBI and 55 runs scored. He has never faced Peralta in his career.
