Kansas City Royals starting pitcher Eric Skoglund was coming off a strong performance against the White Sox last week, but the Tigers poured cold water all over him on Thursday. Skoglund surrendered five earned runs and eight hits in just 4 2/3 innings of work, but his offense bailed him out enough to let him escape with a no-decision. Skoglund’s ugly 6.84 ERA to this point has mostly been because he’s been snakebit on letting runners score, stranding just 59 percent of those who reach base against him. While his FIP of 4.75 indicates better times are coming, he’s still not worthy of a roster spot in most leagues.--Billy Stonick - RotoBaller
