Elijah Mitchell Out Of The Concussion Protocol
3 years agoSan Francisco 49ers rookie running back Elijah Mitchell (concussion, knee) is out of the league's concussion protocol, but whether he plays on Thursday against the Tennessee Titans will depend on his knee. Mitchell was listed as a DNP on Monday's estimated practice report, and he hasn't practiced or played since suffering a concussion in Week 12. Whether the 23-year-old can get back on the practice field in the next two days will likely determine if he'll have a shot at playing in Week 16 against the Titans, but the short week certainly won't help his cause. When healthy, Mitchell has been the team's unquestioned lead back and has been a strong RB2 for fantasy managers. If he cannot get cleared, Jeff Wilson Jr., who had over 100 yards rushing and a TD in Week 15, would be an RB3/flex against a Titans defense that has allowed the second-fewest rushing yards per game (86.9) this year.
