The Miami Dolphins restructured cornerback Xavien Howard's contract on Thursday to create $3,765,846 in salary cap room to help the team operate through the end of the 2021 season. Howard became the highest-paid cornerback in the NFL when he signed a five-year extension worth $76.5 million before the 2019 season, and then he requested a trade before the two sides reworked his deal heading into the 2021 season.
