Dolphins Restructure Xavien Howard's Contract
3 years agoThe Miami Dolphins restructured cornerback Xavien Howard's contract on Thursday to create $3,765,846 in salary cap room to help the team operate through the end of the 2021 season. Howard became the highest-paid cornerback in the NFL when he signed a five-year extension worth $76.5 million before the 2019 season, and then he requested a trade before the two sides reworked his deal heading into the 2021 season. It's notable with the team picking up running back Phillip Lindsay off waivers on Wednesday. The Dolphins are projected to have $76.9 million available in cap space in 2022, which would be the most in the NFL.
