3 years agoThe Los Angeles Dodgers have been getting plenty of interest in minor league catcher Keibert Ruiz. Ruiz has no current path to the major league roster, but the Dodgers don't want to give him up for a rental piece at the trade deadline. The 23-year-old backstop is ranked by MLB Pipeline as Los Angeles' top prospect. He's a switch-hitter with a contact-oriented approach at the dish, but he also is extremely disciplined and rarely strikes out. Almost all of Ruiz's power comes from the left side, and he has the tools to be a solid defender behind the plate in the long term. In 51 games at Triple-A Oklahoma City in 2021, Ruiz is slashing .313/.385/.642 with 16 home runs and 45 RBI in 226 plate appearances. He remains one of the best players at his position to roster in dynasty/keeper leagues.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller
