Dodgers Call Up Bobby Miller
2 years agoThe Los Angeles Dodgers called up right-handed pitching prospect Bobby Miller from Triple-A Oklahoma City on Sunday, according to sources. The team's top pitching prospect and No. 19 overall, according to MLB Pipeline, will make his major-league debut on Tuesday night against the Atlanta Braves. The Dodgers are in need of rotation help with both left-hander Julio Urias (hamstring) and righty Dustin May (forearm) on the injured list. Miller missed the first few weeks of the minor-league season with shoulder soreness, and he had a shaky 5.65 ERA, 1.21 WHIP and 12 strikeouts in 14 1/3 innings for Oklahoma City before his call-up. Still, the 24-year-old's upside as a front-line starter in the big leagues makes him an immediate candidate for a waiver-wire pickup now that he's in LA.
