DL Hall Called Up For Doubleheader
2 years agoThe Baltimore Orioles added pitching prospect DL Hall from Triple-A Norfolk to serve as the team's 27th man for Saturday's doubleheader against the Detroit Tigers. The team's No. 6 prospect, per MLB Pipeline, will be brought up to the big leagues for the first time this year to serve in a long-relief role for extra pitching depth during the doubleheader. Expect the Orioles to send him back to the minors following the twin bill. The 24-year-old left-hander made 11 appearances in his first taste of the majors in 2022, and he's currently posting a 4.41 ERA, 1.47 WHIP, nine walks and 20 strikeouts in 16 1/3 innings over four starts for Norfolk. Hall has the stuff to generate high strikeout rates in the big leagues, but he needs to work on his control before the O's seriously consider him for their rotation later this year.
