6 years agoColorado Rockies second baseman DJ LeMahieu has been sidelined for about a week with his strained oblique, but manager Bud Black told reporters on Sunday that he's already been making good progress in his recovery. No updated timetable was given since the original 4-6 week one was provided when the injury occurred, so while his progress is good to hear about, it's likely just implying he's on track for that original expectation. In the meantime, the team has a combination of rookies Garrett Hampson and Ryan McMahon and veteran Pat Valaika filling in for LeMahieu. With LeMahieu scheduled to be a free agent after this season, this may work as a little trail run for what next year could look like.--Billy Stonick - RotoBaller
