Diamondbacks Plan To Play Corbin Carroll Thursday
1 year agoArizona Diamondbacks outfielder Corbin Carroll (wrist) left in the fifth inning of Wednesday's game against the Colorado Rockies with a right-wrist contusion after he was hit by a fastball from pitcher Gavin Hollowell in the fourth inning. X-rays came back negative, though, and manager Torey Lovullo said he plans to play Carroll on Thursday against the Chicago Cubs. The 23-year-old is a top candidate for the National League Rookie of the Year award and recently become the fourth rookie in MLB history with at least 20 home runs and 40 stolen bases. It's great news for Arizona that his injury didn't turn out to be serious as they look to secure a wild-card berth in the NL down the stretch.
