Dave Gettleman Likely In His Last Year With Giants
3 years agoThe New York Giants fired offensive coordinator Jason Garrett earlier this week, and general manager Dave Gettleman, who has run the team's personnel department since 2018, is unlikely to return in 2022, according to sources with knowledge of the situation and those with deep knowledge of the league. The Giants will have two first-round picks next year and will be entering a critical offseason. Gettleman, who will be 71 years old next year, could also end up walking away into retirement. New York faces an uphill battle the rest of the 2021 season in order to make a run at a playoff spot. Vice president of football operations and assistant general manager Kevin Abrams would be a strong candidate to replace Gettleman as GM.
