Danny Amendola Undergoes Knee Surgery
3 years agoHouston Texans wide receiver Danny Amendola (knee) underwent arthroscopic knee surgery this week after suffering a meniscus injury in the Week 12 win over the New York Jets, and he could miss up to four weeks. With only six weeks left in the season, it's highly plausible that the Texans just shut the 36-year-old slot man down for the rest of the 2021 season. Amendola will likely be placed on Injured Reserve on Saturday. He missed four games earlier this year with a hamstring injury but is third on the team with 29 targets. It speaks to the lack of viable options in Houston's passing attack. Brandin Cooks remains the target hog in this offense, although rookie Nico Collins should see more run down the stretch in a lost season. Collins is still a shaky WR4/flex in this low-scoring offense, but he deserves watching in deeper leagues the rest of the way.
