Daniel Vogelbach Hits On The Field Thursday
3 years agoMilwaukee Brewers first baseman Daniel Vogelbach (hamstring) hit on the field for the first time on Thursday since landing on the injured list. It was a nice step forward, but Vogelbach must still clear the hurdles of running and playing defense. The left-handed slugger landed on the injured list with a left hamstring strain and is expected to miss at least another month of action, which is part of the reason why Milwaukee went out and acquired left-handed hitting first baseman Rowdy Tellez from the Toronto Blue Jays this week. Vogelbach will occasionally get ahold of a ball and has seven home runs, but his .216 batting average and .323 on-base percentage leave plenty to be desired. And he might see even fewer at-bats in the second half if Tellez sticks around.
