D'Andre Swift Not Expected To Play This Week
3 years agoDetroit Lions running back D'Andre Swift (shoulder), who has already missed two practices this week, isn't expected to play in Week 13 against the Minnesota Vikings and is feeling like a long shot for Week 14 as well. Swift fell hard on his right shoulder with a defender on him during the Thanksgiving game last week and was quickly ruled out with a shoulder sprain. The winless Lions have lost their best all-around offensive player, and it doesn't make sense for them to rush him back in another lost season. Jamaal Williams saw a season-high 15 carries for 65 yards and caught all five of his targets for 18 yards last week, and he figures to see the majority of the backfield touches with Swift out. He'll be in the RB2 mix against Minnesota. Rookie Jermar Jefferson and Godwin Igwebuike will see expanded roles behind Williams.
