4 months agoThe Chicago Cubs picked up starting pitcher Jose Quintana's 2020 option on Saturday and declined pitcher Derek Holland's, making him a free agent. Quintana was 13-9 in 2019 but with a 4.68 ERA in 32 outings. He's gone 33-23 with a 4.23 ERA in 78 outings for the Cubs since being acquired from the White Sox in July of 2017. Holland was 0-1 with a 6.89 ERA in 20 games for the Cubs last year after coming over from the Giants on July 26. Quintana just doesn't have much fantasy upside in his left arm because of his inability to avoid contact on a regular basis. He can be useful in deep leagues for rotation depth and wins, but not much more.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller
