The Dallas Cowboys officially hired former Minnesota Vikings head coach Mike Zimmer as their new defensive coordinator on Monday. The 67-year-old is the third-winningest head coach in Vikings history and has long been respected for his defensive prowess. He will be replacing Dan Quinn, who left to serve as the Washington Commanders' new head coach. The Cowboys were also considering former NFL head coach Rex Ryan for the job, but they eventually settled on Zimmer as the man for the job. Zimmer was a Cowboys assistant coach from 1994-2006, eventually serving as the defensive coordinator from 2000-06 under two different head coaches -- Davie Campo (2000-02) and Bill Parcells (2003-06). From 2014-21, Zimmer went 74-59-1 as the Vikings' head coach, including three playoff appearances.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBallerRead More News
