Cowboys Expect Ezekiel Elliott To Have A Serious Load
3 years agoDallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones said the team expects running back Ezekiel Elliott (knee) to have a serious load against the New Orleans Saints on Thursday night. Elliott has seen his workload decrease in recent weeks while battling through a nagging knee injury, and they said after the Thanksgiving game that they'd consider resting him for the stretch run. However, he was a full participant in practice and appears to have recovered nicely after last week's overtime loss to the Las Vegas Raiders. In the last two games, Zeke has only 18 carries for 57 yards and one touchdown on the ground, adding 12 catches for 60 yards on 14 targets. Tony Pollard will still be involved, and Elliott will be more of a low-end RB2 against a Saints defense that has allowed the third-fewest rushing yards per game (91.9) in 2021.
