Cowboys, Dak Prescott Not Close To Deal
5 years agoThe Dallas Cowboys and quarterback Dak Prescott are not close to a contract extension at this time, according to sources. A deal is expected to get done eventually, but a deal isn't happening anytime soon despite owner Jerry Jones saying an extension was "imminent" recently. With Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes likely to become the highest paid player in the league this offseason, Prescott should have more leverage in negotiations if he waits and continues to play well. However, Dallas could use either a franchise or transition tag on Prescott this offseason. He has completed a league-best 74.5 percent of his passes for 920 yards and nine touchdowns through three weeks and will remain a strong QB1 on the road against the Saints on Sunday night.
