Courtland Sutton Continues Concerning Trend
3 years agoDenver Broncos wide receiver Courtland Sutton has now caught two or fewer passes in seven straight games. He finished the Broncos 15-10 loss to the Cincinnati Bengals in Week 15 with just two grabs for 12 yards on a team-high seven targets. One of his seven targets was a near touchdown in the end zone. The seven targets are encouraging -- the most he's seen since a season-high 14 targets in Week 6 -- but Sutton now has 12 catches on 27 targets for 131 yards and no touchdowns in the seven games since Jerry Jeudy returned from his high ankle sprain. Jeudy had zero catches on Sunday, but since he returned as another weapon in a crowded offense, Sutton just hasn't been featured at all. Maybe that will change if quarterback Drew Lock takes over for Teddy Bridgewater (concussion) in Week 16, but we wouldn't count on it. Sutton has become an unattractive WR4/flex with a scary low floor.
