4 years agoNew York Jets wide receiver Corey Davis said that he signed with the team under the impression that quarterback Sam Darnold would be the starter in 2021. "The situation, it is what it is. Obviously I'm coming in with my understand that Sam (Darnold) is the guy. That doesn't scare me away at all. I've seen Sam do great things," Davis said. The Jets own the No. 2 pick in next month's draft, and there's been speculation that they could move on from Darnold this offseason. Davis' comments don't mean that the Jets won't take a quarterback at second overall in the draft. The 23-year-old quarterback didn't improve at all in 2020 with nine touchdowns and 11 interceptions in 12 games, but he could put up better numbers with Davis as his top target if he remains in the team's plans next season.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller
